One of the best starts to any day, this bowl will not only warm you up in the morning, it'll fill you up ’til lunchtime too!


Fresh Irish Milk 1 Litre
300 millilitre or water

Put the porridge oats and milk or water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Once it has boiled, reduce the heat and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring all the while.

Now you can choose what to add to your porridge. How about finely chopped mixed nuts and a drizzle of honey? You could keep it simple with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Most fruit suits porridge, but there's something about mashed banana that really works with the oats. Try the mashed banana with a tablespoon of Nutella for a real sweet treat.
